Detailed legal overview
For obtaining a temporary residence permit in the Republic of Azerbaijan, upon entry into the country, the following visas must be presented:
- If in close family relations with a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan – private visit visa;
- If at least 500,000 manats are invested in the country’s economy – any type of visa;
- If owning immovable property in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan worth at least 100,000 manats or holding deposit account of the same amount in a bank – any type of visa;
- If holding the position of head or deputy head of a branch or a representative office of a foreign legal entity in Azerbaijan – business or employment visa;
- If engaged in entrepreneurial activity in the Republic of Azerbaijan – business visa;
- If studying in full-time programs at higher and secondary specialized educational institutions or in general education institutions of the Republic of Azerbaijan – science or education visa;
- If engaged in professional religious activities within state-registered religious organizations – humanitarian visit visa;
- If grounds are provided for by international treaties of the Republic of Azerbaijan – business visa, official visit visa, employment visa, medical visa, cultural or sports visa;
- If being a family member of foreigners or stateless persons temporarily or permanently residing in the Republic of Azerbaijan – private visit visa;
- If being a highly qualified specialist in the fields of economy, industry, military, science, culture, sports, or other areas – visa corresponding to the field of engagement.
